Splintered Hearts

Splintered Hearts by Sophie Quinn

Splintered Hearts by Sophie Quinn was one of the best debut novels I have ever read. The pace of the story, development of the characters, and way she’s able to capture them falling for each other, made me love this book and author. Now, I’m dying for more. It didn’t help that she introduced us to these character’s best friends, who are in a very hot and heavy relationship, and made us crave their story, too.

Noah gets caught with a guy and gets kicked out of his house by his dad. He ends up staying with his friend Mark, who just got a place with his boyfriend, Hunter. Since Hunter moved out of his old place, his former roommate, Jamie, needs a replacement. After a hookup at a party, Noah agrees to move in with the tattooed, emotionally unavailable man that his best friend dislikes.

While it takes a while for the spice to pick up again, it’s very much worth it when we get to that point. While I love books with lots of smut in them, I love books like this one that have the perfect blend of smut and romance. Jamie and Noah get along and agree to a no strings attached hook up, but we get to see them clearly develop feelings for each other even if they don’t realize it. The problem with them hooking up with each other? Noah pretends he doesn’t want a relationship because Jamie doesn’t, but he’s falling hard and fast.
