Heart Eyes

Heart Eyes Review

I’ll be the first to admit that horror movies and slasher movies are not my style. Despite that, something intrigued me about Heart Eyes, enough to see it in theaters. I was glad I did.

Heart Eyes immediately starts off with a brutal murder scene that’ll attract any slasher fan before eventually showing us our main characters, Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) meeting at a coffee shop. Their meeting is a hilarious encounter that ends badly, and unfortunately for them, they find out hours later that they’re going to be working together.

Through a funny chain of events, the Heart Eyes Killer terrorizing Seattle mistakes Jay and Ally for a couple. The problem? He kills couples, and he has his heart intent on killing them. Heart Eyes overall was more hilarious than I expected, and kept my attention until the very end with plot twists that I didn’t expect going into a slasher film. It’s more complex than others of its kind.
